Ambassadors Set to Return
FLORENCE–The Harlem Ambassadors are coming to Florence/Lauderdale Coliseum on Friday, February 10 at 7pm.
Offering a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, highfl ying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks, and hilarious comedy routines, th
e Harlem Ambassadors are a team of talented male and female basketball players that are drug and alcohol-free, college-educated and positive in appearance.
They are committed to giving their audience quality family entertainment and serving as positive role models for young people.
The Ambassadors set themselves apart from other Harlem teams by working with local not-for-profit and service organizations by holding shows as community fundraising events. The Ambassadors have partnered with NAMI Shoals (the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness) with the proceeds of ticket sales funding local programs and services.
Advance tickets are now available: Students/ Seniors $5, Adults $8, Kids 4 and under FREE. Tickets at the door: Students/ Seniors $7, Adults $10. Sponsors and some local basketball team players are also needed for this event.

Who Do You Recommend?
SHOALS- Each year one outstanding individual is selected as Shoals Citizen of the Year and is honored at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. The Shoals Chamber is now accepting recommendations for the award.
Guidelines for Shoals Citizen of the Year are as follows:
1. The recipient must have made outstanding contributions to the Shoals area by either time or resources given to promote the best interests of the community as a whole.
2. The recipient may be chosen based on contributions of different lengths of time; either lifetime service, several years of service, or one preceding year of service.
3. The recipient may not currently hold a political office.
4. The recipient will be chosen based on quality of service, not quantity of recommendations made.
5. The recipient must be a member of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.
A recommendation form may be picked up at the Chamber office, located at 20 Hightower Place in Florence or is available online at www.shoalschamber.com. Recommendations must be received at the Shoals Chamber office by Wednesday, February 15.
The recipient will be honored at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting Thursday, March 15, at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center.
