June Laverne Gandy Stansell, 75, a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at E.C.M. Hospital. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, and a surgery secretary for 21 years.

Private services will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 with interment following in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Sonny Owens.

Mrs. Stansell was preceded in death by her parents, George Earnest and Meda Loraine Hyde Gandy; sister, Mildred Nadine Gandy Clements; twin brother, Jimmy Laveral Gandy.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Welton M. “Buddy” Stansell, Sr.; son, Welton M. Stansell, Jr. of Cherokee, AL; daughter, Pamela June Stansell Mason and husband Bucky of Belton, TX; brother, Bobby Kenneth Gandy and wife Faye of Huntsville; sister, Joyce Adele Hendon of Florence; grandchildren, Kimberly Renae Mason Simons of Belton, TX, Kendall Leigh Stansell of Florence; great grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Simons, Ema Nicole Simons.
