THE TENNESSEE VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY will have its Winter Quarterly meeting at 2:30pm, Sunday, January 29, at the Sheffield Public Library Conference Room, 316 North Montgomery Avenue, Sheffield. The guest speaker will be Doris Hunter Metcalf. In observance of Black History Month, her powerpoint presentation will cover “Historical African-American Faces and Places in The Shoals.” The TVHS meeting is free. All are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
E G GLOVER (GRADY) AND L.R. BARRETT-DURHAM (LEIA) have co-authored a novel entitled, “Fear the Beast Within” (a paranormalromance). Leia currently has a novel in print, “Never Trust a Sorcerer”, and a sequel novel, “Always Trust Your Honor”, that will be available soon. Both authors will be hosting book signings: Saturday, January 28, at K’S Cove Books and Treasure, Rogersville, from 10:30am-1:30pm; Saturday., February 4 at Burchell-Campbell Lexington Public Library in Lexington from 11am- 2pm; and Saturday, February 11 at Coldwater Books, Tuscumbia from11am-2pm. Tim ewill be announced for Saturday, February 25 at the Killen Used Book Store, next to the Killen Library.
THE CROSSPOINT SINGLES MINISTRY 2ND ANNUAL KICKOFF FELLOWSHIP takes place Saturday, Jan. 28, 6pm at the Adult Education Building. Snacks, appetizers, desserts, drinks, and coffee will be served. Frank Mills, Minister from Crosspoint Church of Christ, will be the speaker. All are invited to attend and enjoy fellowship with singles of all different age groups.
