DAYTONA, FL — The University of North Alabama’s theater program will be represented in a regional competition that could earn it a trip to Washington, D.C., this spring. Daytona State College will host University of Central Florida, Kennesaw State University, Florida International University, UNA, Middle Tennessee State University and University of Alabama at Birmingham at the Region 4 presentation of the 44th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival taking place this week.

The Kennedy Center is providing a travel grant to each school with a production invited to the regional level. Participants and productions will be eligible for awards in a number categories recognizing excellence within the theatrical arts during the from Jan 31 – Feb 4 event.

Individual awardees and a representative from awardwinning productions will be brought to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to the national festival April 16-21 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
