I had the pleasure of attending the Muscle Shoals Sound 50th Anniversary celebration last Saturday night at the studio on Jackson Highway in Sheffield. The concert was fabulous, and I congratulate the Swampers, producers, musicians, and vocalists for their enduring legacy and outstanding contribution to music and pop culture.

However, the event was hampered by a lack of planning to provide handicap parking and easy access for those with mobility issues. Although a shuttle van was provided for transportation into the venue site, the step was too tall for many people to board. A small one-step ladder would have provided needed assistance and would have helped me to not suffer from significant pain as I attempted to get into the van.

I suggest that the organizers of future events consider the needs of all attendees.
