The Ball is in Our Court

In 1686 Sir Isaac Newton introduced his third law of motion called, “The Law of Action and Reaction.” He discovered that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

In the 19th century another law was introduced called, “The Law of Cause and Effect”, stating that every effect has a specific and predictable cause.

Millenniums before the Bible had already alluded to these laws. Galatians 6:7 states, “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

It’s the same law and principle as the aforementioned laws.

Everything transpiring in the world today is the fulfillment of these laws. Today’s news is the consequence of yesterday’s actions.

Decades ago, America’s problems and issues were solvable. They were “trickles”. Through negligence and/or apathy, they became streams and then rivers. Now these rivers have merged into an unmanageable flood! Everywhere you look, we see the innumerable consequences of our sins! We see the news. Barney was right – “Nip it in the bud!” Had we followed his advice, we wouldn’t be “eating the fruit “ of yesterday’s sins.

Numbers 32:23b, “You can be sure your sin(s) will find you out”.

Recovering from World War II, we were a great nation, united and sustained by our Biblical foundation. Tragically, we changed direction. That infamous day in American History when we ejected God and the Bible out of our country was the very day our decline and demise as a nation began.

Let me conclude with a word of hope. In spite of everything, there’s yet hope for America–GOD ALONE! All the wells of human resources are drying up. The cup of America’s iniquity is filling up fast. Judgement is falling everywhere, but God is waiting for America to return to Him. He promised to forgive our sins and heal our land if we would return (2 Chronicles 7:14). Even though we’ve sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7), there’s HOPE! If America will stop its rebellion against God, return to Him and restore the Bible to its rightful place as our supreme, ultimate, and final authority in all things, then we will begin reversing our path to self-destruction and rise to recovery and restoration. From our borders to our inner city ghettos. How much more can we take? Its up to us–the ball is in our court!
