Editor;

I had to agree with the September 24 letter in the Courier Journal by Buddy Mauldin referring to a previously published advertisement by Bob Mader. I called in response to that ad for information. However, as of this writing, have not received a return call.

Bob Mader makes a good point that many Christians are not saved, but his estimate of 99% cannot be true. Jesus said He would build his church and that the gates of Hades would not prevail against it.

His church consists of the saved and that “the Lord added daily those that are being saved.” Satan has deceived the world as he did from the beginning by challenging just a few words that God spoke.

Many today base their salvation on just a few words that are recorded, believe only, sprinkle, even babies, (who can’t believe) for baptism, and calling on the name of the Lord with the sinner’s prayer.

However, Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized shall be saved” (Immersed). Peter said, “Repent and be baptized for remission of sins.” He later wrote, “Baptism does now save us.” That is the True Gospel! Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” That will keep you busy!

I join Buddy Mauldin and not Bob Mader. I too have a Bible and will follow it.
