FLORENCE — Disc golf enthusiasts now have a new course on which to compete in the Shoals.
Heritage Christian University and the Shoals Disc Golf Club recently completed an 18-hole disc golf course on the Heritage campus in Florence. The course is open to the public and is free to play. The course is designed for both novice and more advanced players to enjoy.
Joshua Stewart, a Shoals Disc Golf Club member, was integral to the course development. “Heritage has a beautiful course and campus,” says Stewart. “This is a relatively beginner course with a few technical holes. It plays mostly in the open, so players do not need to worry about losing discs. Many players download the UDisc app on their phones to help navigate the course.”
Heritage Christian University occupies a charming 57-acre campus at 3625 Helton Drive in Florence, complete with a walking trail and soccer field.
Heritage Christian University has offered affordable and effective degrees in biblical studies since 1968, allowing graduates to thrive in their ministries without the burden of student loan debt. To learn more about HCU, visit www.hcu.edu.
