FOUNTAIN ON THE GREEN – Even though the 2020 Alabama Renaissance Faire had to be postponed until October of 2021 because of COVID-19, the talented IT team within the Faire’s Roundtable successfully created an exciting Virtual Renaissance Faire.  It contains all of the elements of an in-person Faire, from Medieval martial arts, to vocal and instrumental period musicians, to Irish step dancers, some giddiness, resourceful terminology, and more.

The Virtual Faire was launched on October 24 and 25, the same weekend that the in-person Faire would have occurred.

Additionally, it was archived, so it can be enjoyed indefinitely.

To access the Virtual Faire, the viewer can find it on both the Facebook page and the YouTube channel of the Alabama Renaissance Faire. It is conveniently divided into 8 one-hour segments, allowing the viewer to watch as time permits.

Since 1987, the Roundtable of the Alabama Renaissance Faire has brought this free event to Fountain-on-the-Green (aka Wilson Park) in downtown Florence. In 2020, the show goes on thanks to the wonders of digital technology.
