FLORENCE – Highland Baptist Church will host the Shoals Family Summit beginning at 6pm August 25. The five-week series considers a different topic each Wednesday night through September 22. Participants will gain valuable resources to help them best lead their family in our current culture. A range of highly-qualified professionals will be speaking on several timely topics during the Wednesday series, each of which begins at 6pm.

Angie Hamilton, Assistant District Attorney for Lauderdale county, will be speaking on Social Media Safety, on August 25.
Stephanie Harrison, LPC, MAMFT, MACE Licensed Professional Counselor, Therapist with Pathways Professional Counseling will be speaking on mental health in children and teens on September 1.
Dr. Eric Kirkman, Director of Kilby School, Assistant Professor at UNA and Mary Jane Fowler, Principal at Riverhill School will both be speaking September 8 about success in school.
Dr. Matt Burfurd, Christian Apologetic Strategist for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, will be speaking on sexuality and gender on September 15.
David Thomas, L.M.S.W., Director of Family Counseling at Daystar Counseling, and Sissy Goff, M.ED., LPC-MHSP, Director of Child and Adolescent Counseling at Daystar Counseling will be speaking on raising boys and girls will close the series September 22.
There is no cost to attend and the events are open to the community.
