SHOALS – Shoals Elks Lodge is the smallest Elks Lodge in Alabama with only 70 members. However, it is putting forth big efforts in the Shoals. With the help from a grant received from the Alabama Elks Trust, the Shoals Elks Lodge recently donated 28 bicycles to the United Way of Northwest Alabama’s Christmas “Toys for Tots” program. This comes on the heels of a project that included the delivery of 1132 dictionaries, one for each third-grade student in Colbert and Franklin county.

Other endeavors of the Shoals Elks include service to area veterans, OnePlace of the Shoals furnishings, obtaining supplies for DHR foster children, equipment for the Colbert County Drug Task Force, North Alabama Food Bank’s week-end meals for school children, and scholarships for local high school seniors.
