FLORENCE – Governor Kay Ivey recently appointed Rita M. Prince, CPA, of Patterson, Prince and Associates, P.C., to the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy. The four-year term as a representative of public accountants began Oct. 1.
Her decisions will directly affect Alabama citizens.
The Belgreen graduate obtained her B.S. degree in Accounting from UNA in 1983. She worked as a corporate accountant and then as a public accountant for several years. She obtained her CPA certificate and Alabama License in 1991 and in 1992 began working with Lisa C. Patterson, CPA. She became a partner in 1995 when Patterson, Prince and Associates, P.C. was formed.
Prince is an active member of the American Institute of CPA’s the Alabama Society of CPA’s. She has served the North Alabama Chapter of CPA’s as president and treasurer.
Prince currently serves on the Advisory Council for the UNA School of Accounting, is a member of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce, and is a 1995 graduate of the Leadership Shoals class.
Prince and her husband, Danny, are members of Barton First Baptist Church. They have two children and one grandson.
