THARPTOWN – Listerhill’s Kicks for Kids jumped in with both feet this week with their largest “Shoe Drop”, to date, at Tharptown Elementary School in Franklin county.   In partnership with California based, Shoes That Fit, all 500 students received a new pair of brand-name athletic shoes and five pair of socks during the Tuesday morning event to celebrate the children and all their efforts.

Listerhill Credit Union’s President and CEO, Brad Green, was on hand to help distribute the shoes.

“We want every child to know how important they are.  Providing these children with new shoes will increase their self-esteem, encourage school participation, and help them to reach their potential. It is wonderful to be able to serve our community in such a meaningful way.”

Dr. Karen Thorn, Tharptown Principal, enjoyed every moment of the event and was so thankful for the efforts of Listerhill and the local community. “This has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and value our students.  We are so appreciative of the efforts and donations that have been made on our students’ behalf.”

“We cannot do this alone,” added Foundation Chair, Sarah Evans, highlighting the importance of community partnerships for the program.  “Our corporate sponsors and individual donors enable this program and for them we are so thankful. The Russellville community has been a key partner in making this happen for these children. Donations can be made at To find out more about corporate support, please contact Sarah Evans at
