HANCEVILLE – Deshler senior basketball player, Chloe Siegel, last week set a National Federation record with 18 3-point baskets in an 83-20 win over Oak Mountain at a game played in Hanceville.

Siegel was 18-of-29 on 3-pointers breaking the national record set in January 2013 by Rebecca Greenwell of Kentucky’s Owensboro Catholic and tied in January 2016 by Alicia Reyes of Arizona’s Pueblo.

The AHSAA (state) record for one game was 14 by Trinity’s Emma Kate Smith a year ago.

Last Monday, Siegel had eight 3-pointers at halftime for the top-ranked Tigers (22-1). She closed the game strongly going 6 of 11 in the 4th quarter to set the record.

Siegel’s 54 points also broke the Deshler Lady Tigers’ single game record of 48 set in 1985 by Dina Battisto.
