BIRMINGHAM – Former North Alabama standout, Ivy Wallen, was listed among the top women’s basketball players in the last ten seasons after earning a second-team selection on the Gulf South Conference Team of the Decade.

Wallen recently completed a record-breaking career that included playing her freshman and sophomore seasons in the GSC, earning first team all-conference honors both seasons.  Following the 2016-17 season, Wallen became the most decorated freshman in UNA women’s basketball history.  She lead the league in scoring and finishing just outside the Top 10 in all of Division II at 19.9 points per-game. Wallen was named GSC Freshman of the Year and also received a WBCA All-America honorable mention and a second team All-South Region pick by D2CCA.

As a sophomore the following year, Wallen was the NCAA Division II statistical champion after averaging 9.4 assists per game. She received All-America honorable mention honors by the WBCA and was also named first team All-South Region by D2CCA. Wallen set a UNA and GSC single-game assist record of 20 on Jan. 2 at Mississippi College and also finished the season with a 3.39 GPA that landed her on the GSC Winter All-Academic Team.
