FLORENCE–The Board of Directors of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) / Gulf Coast Chapter, recently appointed James Bowles of Florence as their new Governor during their Spring directors meeting in Gulf Shores.
Bowles replaces the retiring Charles Freeman, President of Gulf Electric in Mobile, Alabama.
The Gulf Coast Chapter consists of electrical contractors located across the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. Governors are responsible for representing and communicating the views of their respective chapters to the Board of Governors and communicating and promoting the objectives and programs of the association to its chapters and its members.
Bowles is the President of B Electric, Inc., an electrical contracting company in Florence which provides industrial, commercial, and residential electrical installations in the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Bowles earned his BS and MBA degrees in Entrepreneurship / Management from the University of North Alabama. He has served as a board member and Chairman at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce implementing a successful five-year Capital Campaign entitled “Turn It Up”.
Bowles has been an active member of the Gulf Coast Chapter of NECA for over 25 years.
Bowles serves as Secretary of the North Alabama Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC). He is an active member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and has served as a past associate’s President.
Bowles will begin serving in this new position immediately and will attend his first Board of Governors meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada this September at NECA’s National Convention.
