FLORENCE – It’s time for October First Fridays! Come enjoy Fall festivities at First Fridays Florence with our crowd favorite: Pumpkin Drop! Attendees will enjoy our maker’s market vendor booths, downtown restaurants, and live music on October 4 from 5–8pm in historic downtown Florence.

The David Phillips Band will be performing on the Big River Stage on Mobile Plaza from 5:30-6:30pm. This will be followed by the annual Pumpkin Drop at 7pm on Court Street. Rick’s Farm Market will provide three large pumpkins to drop in this crowd favorite event. “This is the 6th year that our highly anticipated pumpkin drop has occurred during October First Fridays,” said DFA Director, Stephanie Vess. “We know how much the Florence community looks forward to this event, and we love getting to see the community line Court Street to watch the pumpkins fall.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in our Favorite Yearly Vendor Contest. Stop by the Downtown Florence Alliance booth located on the corner of Court and Mobile St. to cast your vote! The winner of this contest will be announced at the conclusion of 2019 First Friday events and will receive free booth space for 2020.

First Fridays Florence is organized by Downtown Florence Alliance and takes place on the first Friday of every month from March through December. First Fridays is proudly sponsored by Listerhill Credit Union and is a rain-or-shine event.

In addition, Radiance Boutique at 215 North Court Street will have its downtown Grand Opening on Friday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10am. That event will include door prizes, and refreshments, and they will stay open through First Friday events that evening.
