A BOOK EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE Tuesday, August 20 at 6pm with author Frye Gaillard and his book, “A Hard Rain: America in the 1960s, Our Decade of Hope, Possibility, and Innocence Lost.”

Gaillard has written extensively on Southern history and culture, receiving many honors throughout his distinguished career. His deeply personal history through a keen storyteller’s eye relates a pivotal time in American life. Gaillard touches on civil rights, social unrest, black power, women’s liberation, the War in Vietnam, music, literature, art, religion, science, along with brothers Kennedy, MLK Jr, Malcolm X, Gloria Steinem, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, and Harper Lee.
