Your Turn to Help

SHOALS - The 27th Annual National Association of Letter Carriers and US Postal Service Food Drive is THIS SATURDAY, MAY 11.

City and rural carriers in our area will be participating so remember to leave a bag with some non-perishable food items on or by your mailbox on Saturday, so your mail carrier can pick them up when they drop off your mail.

Millions of Americans live in challenging situations, uncertain of where their next meal will come from or if it will come at all. They’re our customers, our neighbors, our families. They include children and seniors that we see along our routes each day.

Sadly, 1 in 5 households needing help with food is home to a military veteran. Some heads of households may have lost a job, are facing a serious medical condition of a family member or are dealing with an unexpected responsibility of caring for grandchildren.

Life can deal ordinary hard-working people some very difficult hands. This food drive makes a positive difference for them.

Over 1.67 billion pounds of food has been collected in past years, however, our communities are still in need across the country.

Stamp Out Hunger, is needed and appreciated by so many.
