WITH FOOD BANKS ACROSS THE NATION struggling to meet demand, the Athens-Limestone Public Library is seeking to support a local food bank. They are asking people to bring canned and non-perishable food items or toiletries to the library. These items will be donated to the Limestone County Churches Involved food pantry in downtown Athens. In addition, the library will waive $1.00 in fines for every item donated through the month of January.
Food pantries have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. By donating these items you not only help a local food pantry in desperate need but can also clear your library account. Fines cannot be waived for damaged or lost items.
