THE “WALK OF LIFE” will return to Tuscumbia Landing on Saturday September 11, 2021. The Trolley will be at Tuscumbia Spring Park at 8am to shuttle those to the Landing site in Sheffield.  Please bring your mask and observe social distancing.  If you drive to the Landing, be there by 8am and ready to go when the Trolley arrives. The parking lot is paved, and the road is open for this event. The 2.2-mile walk retraces the Trail of Tears removal route as close as possible to the original trail. Water is provided at the ballfield by the local Boy Scouts.  Tuscumbia and Sheffield Police will escort. Ending in Tuscumbia Spring Park, the Trolley will return those walkers with vehicles at the Landing Parking Lot.

The Walk of Life is a free public event hosted by Compelling Stories of the Southeast, a 501c3 organization of Tuscumbia.  For more information, call Robert Perry – 918-500-3467.

ANIMAL SHELTERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY are teaming up with NBC and Telemundo stations to find loving homes for pets in need with the Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign. Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services is participating in the month-long effort and will also feature virtual pet adoptions to make it easy for people to donate online to participating shelters and rescues. The campaign runs through Sept 19.
