THE LEIGHTON SUMMER CELEBRATION, featuring a special tribute to Leighton native and Rhythm & Blues singer, Jimmy Hughes, takes place Saturday, June 12 in historic downtown Leighton. Hughes is best known for his hit, “Steal Away,” and his contributions to the success of the Shoals music industry.

Festivities begin at noon with music by DJ JROC and Pat Jamar and Crew. The special tribute to Hughes is at 6pm. Music by the Midnighters begins at 7pm.

Enjoy local food, local art, and a Kids area! The Farmer’s Market will be open from 7am–noon. The Leighton Museum (located in Bank Independent) is open from 1-5pm. Bring a chair and enjoy a day of family fun and fellowship.
