THE MONTE SANO ART FESTIVAL produced by Arts Huntsville is returning to Huntsville on September 21 and 22 and will feature over 150 artists from 12 states. The festival will be open to the public from 9am-5pm on Saturday September 21 and 9 am-4pm on Sunday, September 22.

Admission to the festival is free, but a parking fee of $10 per car or $5 per walk-in festival attendee (cash only), is assessed by Monte Sano State Park. All proceeds go toward supporting the state parks system.

THE NORTH ALABAMA CIVIL WAR ROUND TABLE will meet on Tuesday, September 17 at 6pm at the Florence Lauderdale Public Library. The speaker is Christopher Lyle McIlwain, who will discuss his recent book, The Million-Dollar Man Who Helped Kill a President: George Washington Gayle and the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln. This amazing presentation will show the Alabama connection with the assassination of our 16th President. Everyone interested in this pivotal era in our history is invited.
