SCS Students Ready for 3-Night Performance

FLORENCE – A talented cast of 56 students will present The Lion King Jr. May 9-11 at Shoals Christian School. Showtimes is 7:30pm each night. The 60-minute musical is based on the 1997 Broadway production and Disney’s 1994 animated feature film.

Disney’s The Lion King Jr. tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious young cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as a king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters including a spunky lioness Nala, a silly bird called Zazu, a charismatic meerkat Timon, loveable warthog Pumba, and many other amazing animals of the Pridelands. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save the animals of his beloved homeland, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked uncle Scar. The Lion King Jr. features classic songs from the 1994 film.

John Knight, an eleventh grader at SCS, is playing the role of Simba. The production is being directed by Jennifer Adams.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students/children. Advance tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling Shoals Christian School at 256-767-7070 or by coming by school which is located on 301 Heathrow Drive in Florence. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of each performance
