TUSCUMBIA – Examination, photographs by Robert Rausch is on display at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art in Tuscumbia though September 30.  A reception for the artist will take place Thursday, September 22 at 6pm.

Exhibition hours are from Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday from 10am-5pm

“These photographs are not self-portraits but a series of portrait-like images of myself in the guise of created characters, not narrative fragments,” Rausch said of the exhibit.  “They are straightforward images using myself as an archetype, a vehicle for commentary on issues surrounding the roles we play.  I have been called boy,

man, son, brother, cousin, uncle, husband, father, photographer, designer, art director, professor, artist, technician, but this list barely begins to describe who I am.  The work feels familiar as it is drawn from sources that surround me.”

Museum Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for TVAA members.

The museum is located at 511 W. Water St. in Tuscumbia.  Call 256-383-0533 for more information.
